Trading Ideas Update

No specific trade updates this week. I expect as the year draws to a close, I’ll have fewer trades. I like to use the end of the year to get ready for next year. I like to plan out goals and review my trading from the year.

As we move into next week, I’ll continue my setup articles. In the mean time. Here’s a selection of my strategy articles to check out.

Trading Ideas Update

It’s been quiet in terms of specific trading ideas. I posted a lot of longs over this past week with some setting up nicely. I’m still in the NXY trade which was featured on 11/26.

One blog worth your time is AfraidtoTrade.com. Corey’s blog is easy to read and always on topic. I think that’s why it’s one of my favorites. His post on Swing Charts of The Indexes is a classic example of the utility of his posts. Important points are bulleted and He has lots of charts which is important for someone like myself with my MTV-trained concentration.

Tomorrow is the 66th festival of stocks. I’ve got a lot of interesting posts, so make sure you stop by!

Trading Ideas Update

I’m out of the EDU trade and the IBM trade. Both for nice gains. Personally, I think IBM had a lot farther to drop, but we’ll see. I’m very bearish on the market, but I’ll let the patterns dictate my actions.

The NXY trade has setup, but I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts that it bounces and stops me out. Why not exit the position? My method necessitates that I let it hit the stop before exiting.

Not much else here. Oh, btw, I won Trader Bubs’ contest. I made the closest guess of the 11/30 close of the Dow Jones Industrials. I guessed 13325. The Dow closed at 13371, a difference of 46 points or .3%.

How did I get so close? Simple. Last month I programmed a stock trading robot called LUCK.

See you Monday!

Trading Ideas Update

I’m out of the AGU trade at breakeven. I mismanaged that one. Longs at the end of a bull move never seem to workout for me. With obvious reasons, they can’t stand up to the blistering assault of negative market direction.

Out of the KGC trade for a 3R gain.

The IBM trade consolidating. Still looking very bearish.

The EDU trade is also acting well. However, I would like to see it stay under its 50 SMA.

Looks like I was spitting into the wind with VIVO. 1R Loss.

I didn’t take the INTC or MSFT trades. You may want to see how they behave intra day on Monday for another entry.

Trading Ideas Update

Time for another edition of Trading Ideas Update!

If the AGU trade continues to break down, I’m out at break even. I actually like the stock as a short under 53.00.

We’ll see if the KGC trade can find legs at the 50 SMA.

The IBM trade has done well for me and is consolidating. We’ll see if there’s another down leg in the works.

The APA trade was stopped for a 1R loss.

The EDU trade needs to get below its 50 SMA. I would expect good things once that support is broken.

The IFN trade never setup.

The VIVO trade has setup. Should be interesting to see whether I’m spitting into the wind or a market genius by calling a short term bottom.
